Minnie Mouse Skirt & Hairbow

Hey There,

I am back with another project.

I recently made my daughter this super adorable Minnie Mouse inspired outfit.

Well just the Skirt and Hairbow, but you know what I mean

This project is great because it requires no pattern, just folding. Although I did modify it slighly to include pockets, because who doesn't love a skirt with a pocket? I also added a bit of lace to the bottom

This is the tutorial I used for the Skirt

This tutorial is easy to follow and following the instructions produces a wonderful skirt. I plan to actually make myself one soon.

Fabric & Supplies
Keepsake Calico Fabric-Large Dots On Lipstick
White Eyelet Lace (sold by the yard)
Coats Poly Zipper 4 inches (in white)

I had enough Fabric left over to make a huge Mickey Mouse Style Bow. I have enough left to perhaps make a few smaller ones

This is the tutorial I used for the bows

We made quite a Disney pair when we both wore our Minnie Mouse outfits
Styling Notes:

  • Jeweled wedges, Kmart
  • White Poplin Shirt
  • Black Statement Necklace, Claires
  • Thin Black Belt, Dots

  • Apt 9 White Peforated Bow Wedges (Kohls,2014)
  • Teal Statement Necklace, The icing

Made for Mermaids: Molly Dress

Hey There

It's been a LOOONG while. I decided to hop on here and share a few crafty things that I have made recently.

Can you Believe that that little baby who first appeared in my videos is now almost 6!!! where did time fly?!

But don't worry she has been keeping me busy playing chauffeur taking her to soccer practice and all of our Girl Scouts events.

Anyhoo my husband Ryan recently purchased me a new sewing machine for my Birthday  so I have been enjoying making all sorts of creations for my daughter with it. I would say that i'm an Advanced beginner, and still favor simple patterns. I am really enjoying the adorable patterns from Made for Mermaids. They are simple enough where I can whip up an adorable dress in an hour or two.

This is the Molly Pattern which is more like instructions rather than an actual pattern as all the pieces are straight cut. This dress can be made from size 1/2 all the way up to a size 14, so I plan to keep making these as long as she likes them

Another great thing is that you can mix and match the sizes to get a custom Phoebe.

Phoebe wears a size 6 in RTW (Ready to Wear AKA store clothing sizes) but in this pattern she has to use a size 4 chest and a size 7 length. She is a little bean pole.
It was actually a bit chilly on Easter, when she wore this dress, so I had her throw on a white poplin shirt under the dress which styled it similar to a jumper. But once warmer weather kids she can just wear the dress as is.

She styled them with her favorite shoes, that I purchased from Kmart

I purchased the Fabric at Joanns using a 50% off coupon. I don't have the fabric names on me at the moment but I will add them here with links to Joanns once I Find them.

Dark Teal: Modkid High Society- Floret Navy (NLA)

The whole dress was done in cotton and machine washable.

I will post more projects as I find the time

Have a great day!!
